More work on the porch!

And, later, more yard work.
Mom gets to be Campbell’s caddie.

And, Campbell loves to play on the golf simulator, especially when it rains. He still has a pretty good swing!
More dress-up fun. Construction knight?

They had to come and pick up the golf cart today, a few days early, because they needed for the golf tournament. But, Campbell got to have a big time helping to put it on the trailer!

Then, he got to see Mr. Randy, his favorite neighborhood yard guy! He loves Mr. Randy!

Later, Campbell constructed an amazing building with his magnatiles.

More work around the neighborhood. And new tools. 🙂

But, that wasn’t the best part of the day! A fire truck came through the neighborhood painting fire hydrants. Campbell got to help them with their work. This was the BEST DAY! :). Apparently, they do this one time/year, so we’re going to have to figure out when they’re coming next year. 🙂
Today, we received the May edition of the Greenwood Gazette. Campbell made the neighborhood paper! Super cute. 🙂

Later, Dad and Campbell did some work on the geothermal HVAC system. 🙂

And, later, Campbell did some work on some of the pipes in the neighborhood.

Later, we had fun swimming. 🙂

Then, Gigi and Papa Doc gave Campbell a knight costume. It was a big hit! 🙂
So this is Campbell on day 2 of swimming on his own! I love this video. I think he looks like a tiny Michael Phelps. :). It’s amazing to see the progress with just a couple of hours of swimming on his own!
Campbell also go to go and pick blueberries at a neighbor’s house!

And, later, we got a picture of Campbell doing one of his favorite things: playing backgammon with Papa Doc on Dad.

Today was parents’ day at swim lessons. Campbell did so well! We were really proud of him. He got some fun prizes to take home too.

And, I asked Ms. Debra about how to get him to replicate what he’d learned in our pool. She said to just let him play around and that eventually, he’d start swimming. I told her he wouldn’t take his floaties off. She told him that he didn’t need them anymore, so I told him they were gone.
We couldn’t swim right away after lessons because they shocked the pool with chlorine.
So, Campbell and Gigi did some yard work. 🙂

but once we were able to get in later in the afternoon, we were amazed! Campbell got it and didn’t even ask for his floaties. He swam around using a kickboard for a little while.
He fell off once, and was able to kick himself up to the surface (it was a nerve wracking 10 seconds for mom and dad!). But, I think it made him more confident that he could do it and not as afraid!
Then he switched to a pool noodle. Then he asked to swim to us and started swimming.
We captured the moment here:
Then, he turned into a little fish. You can see the difference here about 30-45 minutes later!
He kind of looks like a little Michael Phelps with the way his arms are pumping. We are so proud! Thankfully, Gigi and Papa Doc’s pool is small enough that Campbell can get anywhere in one breath, which has been really good for his confidence. Now, hopefully, we can reinforce over the next few days and get his confidence up. It’s going to be such a relief not to be terrified every time Campbell is anywhere near water! At least now we know he knows what to do if he falls in.
And, you definitely never know what he’s going to say. I wasn’t expecting him to say “breathing apparatus.”
We are so proud of Campbell!
Gigi got these silly glasses for Campbell to wear for Memorial Day. :).
We’ve been in private swim lessons this week. At a person’s home (Debra Stapleton, who is awesome). He’s only there with one other kid at the same time, and they’re taking precautions, so hopefully safe. We’ve had this on the schedule since last August.
He’s been really scared in the morning when we’ve gone. We’ve had to take his temperature, which doesn’t help, and then he’s had a big tantrum before we went each day. But, once he gets there, he’s been fine and done well.
Tomorrow is parents’ day, so we will be able to see how he’s doing. So far, he won’t take his floaties off…
Later, Campbell got to do some work on the keypad at the gate. It was malfunctioning and needed his expertise.
Campbell got to help fix Mr. Harry’s driveway today! 🙂
Today, we went to Jackson. Usually, we go this weekend for the croquet tournament. We’re very sad that it’s canceled this year. But, we scheduled our swim lessons to coincide with this weekend, since we “knew” we would be in Jackson that weekend for the tournament. And, Mom and Dad need help! We need help with work, especially since Dad is teaching summer school starting on Tuesday.
Campbell fell asleep in the car in the very late afternoon watching a movie in the car. Poor guy. So sweet!

As soon as we got to Jackson, Campbell wanted to go swimming even though the pool isn’t heated and it was VERY cold. Dad is a better sport than mom is… 🙂
Campbell and Dad went golfing this morning. 🙂
Later ,we had the most fun surprise. Campbell’s teachers and principal dropped off an “end of year” gift for Campbell. It included a cool STEAM book for Campbell along with a lot of things to tinker and build with. And, his teachers Miss Mimmie and Miss Hayley sent him a book, “I knew you could do it” and made a picture book of favorite pictures of Campbell as a Dandy Lion and a Lucky Llama at GSL Miss Lee’s. It was so thoughtful.
But, by far the most special gift was from Miss Sarah, Campbell’s after care teacher. She drew a coloring book with pictures of all the children in Campbell’s class. It’s amazing and we are blown away!
Later, we went back to the park!

Even though we only went twice, Campbell LOVED CLUE classes at Downtown Elementary. So, we went to the drive by to say goodbye and thank you to the teachers. In costume, in typical form. :). Campbell now thinks it is amazing to sit in the sunroof. 🙂
Afterwards, Dad and Campbell went to take “last day of school” pictures at GSL. So sad to be there by ourselves for our last day at Miss Lee’s! What an amazing place!
Later, we went to the park to swing and do the stomp rocket. 🙂
Garbage day and boat repair day!
Followed by our last day of school in JK as a Lucky Llama! Bittersweet. Definitely over virtual classes, but so sad to end the year this way.

Later, Campbell was a big help blowing out the garage with dad!

Campbell’s latest take on the pandemic. He is so sad and misses his friends so much. :(.
Later, a backyard haircut and tree work. 🙂
Today, Campbell wanted to work on the top deck. 🙂
Later, dad and Campbell went to do work at the construction site.
And, it’s hard to get pictures, but one of our daily activities is having a pillow fight. Campbell loves this, and it’s great for burning energy – especially on rainy days. 🙂

Then, we got to be Teddy Roosevelt again. 🙂

Later, our water, wet-hating Campbell had so much fun splashing in puddles. :). He should listen to mom and dad more! We had a fun idea!
And, here is our sweet video tribute to our awesome teachers with about half our students.
