We had a fun mid-day adventure today.  Campbell learned about blowing dandelions and had fun climbing a tree and looking for fossils.  He wanted to be a paleontologist today.

May 15, 2020

We walked into the bathroom this morning to find Campbell putting in dad’s headphones and singing Zac Brown’s Chicken Fried.  🙂  Hilarious.

Later, dad got some great pictures in the driveway play football and “earning” popsicles for riding his new bike.  :).

And, we tried to get a great thank you video to include in the compilation we are making of all the children.  Super cute and fun!

Later, Campbell did an inspection of Julie and Tracy’s house.  🙂

Campbell went as a fireman to school this morning.  🙂

2020-05-14 10.03.08

Campbell and Dad went to take pictures with “Flat Cynthia,” our Miss Lee’s Preschool Principal, who was missing all her students.  🙂

And, Campbell loves that it’s mom’s birthday!

Later, mom got the best birthday song and gifts and snuggles with Campbell for her birthday!

May 13, 2020

Dad and Campbell went to the golf course this morning again.  Campbell was more interested in running around and being a police officer than playing, but they had a great time nevertheless.

Later, Campbell was super silly sleeping in a crazy position hanging halfway out the bed!

May 12, 2020

I’m not sure why it took us so long to come up with this idea (mom takes credit), but we have a Nintendo Wii and an Xbox 360 with Kinect (meaning we can play video games with Campbell that require him to run around and expend energy).  This is a perfect rainy day activity, and he loved playing the “rafting” Xbox game with dad!  The picture is blurry but super fun!  😉  Later, mom got to play too!

And, Dad and Campbell went to work at a Fixer Upper  at a construction site around the neighborhood.

May 11, 2020

Today, we organized a drive by for Campbell’s teachers, Ms. Mimmie, Ms. Hayley, and Ms. Sarah.  Ms. Sarah had car trouble and didn’t make it.  But, it was so sweet and mom was so sad.  This was such an amazing year with amazing teachers.  We loved being Lucky Llamas and know we can’t possibly have teachers we love more!

Campbell wanted to go in his police outfit, of course!  :).  The first picture cracks me up because it’s so typical of Campbell.  When we try to make him laugh in the car we say things like “we called the donut shop and there are no donuts for Campbell.”  Here he is calling the milkshake shop (which we were doing after the drive-by) and telling us that there were only peanut butter milkshakes for mommy (yuck!  mommy hates peanut butter).  🙂

And, he loved being able to sit in the sunroof (not while we were driving, of course!  🙂

And, we’ve been trying to get a video to thank our teachers.  This is our first try.  🙂

Later, playing spy around in all our costumes at once in Tracy and Julie’s driveway while trying to run off energy!

May 10, 2020

Today was such a fun Mother’s Day!  Campbell and I looked back at old pictures and videos from the blog.

Later, we saw Tracy outside.  Last night, Campbell had his bike taken away because he rode off by himself against our protests.  His bike got dropped off at Julie and Tracy’s house.  He and Tracy were trying to solve mysteries.  When I brought up the mystery of the missing bike, Campbell said he wasn’t interested in that kind of mystery…  🙂

Later, we found a cool pilot hat for Campbell.

2020-05-10 14.09.29

Later, we went down to the river to play frisbee and go exploring.  Campbell found a ladybug.

2020-05-10 14.59.09

And, Campbell and Dad had a cute adventure looking for wildlife along the riverbank.

Also, apparently, Campbell loves Clive Cussler.  Did we mention he’s reading this book?  Just kidding!  🙂

May 9, 2020

Campbell had a big time working in the yard with Tracy today.  He mowed and raked and used his shovel and blower and edger.  Then they trimmed the bushes together, and Campbell used his loader to help gather up all the branches and load them into garbage bags!  They are so sweet and kind to us and him.

Later, Campbell fell asleep on mom!  :).  He fell asleep 3 times!

May 8, 2020

We’re trying to keep up with our handwriting.  Campbell wrote the “Chief” part of “Chief Bruno,” which is his police officer name (from Berenstain Bears).

2020-05-08 08.31.09

Later, dad and Campbell played on the golf simulator since the weather was bad.

Then, Campbell made a “Thank You” painting for his teachers and a thank you video for the librarians, Mr. Willis and Ms. Massengale.  He loves them.  And, we appreciate all their great suggestions to keep us entertained on the EPIC reading app!

May 7, 2020

Campbell was so tired during “nap”/movie time today that he actually fell asleep watching Sherlock Gnomes.  Super cute.

Later, we went on  Sherlock Gnomes adventure.  🙂

May 6, 2020

Dad and Campbell went golfing this morning.  He’s still got it!  🙂

On an adventure with dad after watching Onward!  Love the GSL cape!

Later, Campbell helped mom in the garden!  2020-05-06 17.30.08

May 1, 2020

Yard worker Campbell.  :).

2020-05-01 11.48.19

Later, we went about our usual evening routine of riding our “big boy bike” for popsicles and throwing the football or frisbee in the driveway to run off some energy.

April 30, 2020

Today, Campbell woke up to a fun surprise.  He got “egged” by our church, Calvary.  They’ve had a super-fun project going on to keep the children engaged with church.  They’ve been going around and picking a day to hide Easter eggs at each child’s house.  The eggs have candy, but they also have words in them that are part of a puzzle or worksheet the children have to complete.  If they complete it and send in pictures for Facebook, the child also gets a second delivery of a “golden egg.”

Campbell had such a fun time hunting the Easter eggs and even helping to complete the worksheets.  He couldn’t read the words, of course, but he was great with picking out the sound that each word started with and picking out the corresponding word to help us complete it.  What a fun idea in these isolating times.

After egg hunting, Dad and Campbell pitched a tent in the back yard and read books.  Awesome idea dad!

Later, Campbell did some “work” on dad’s computer.

2020-04-30 15.59.28

Later, boat repairman Campbell made an appearance on Julie and Tracy’s boat.  🙂

April 29, 2020

The work on the golf cart continued this morning.  Campbell had to wait until Julie left for work and then was eager to get started!

2020-04-29 08.32.42

They are truly the kindest people in the whole world.  So sweet to us and to Campbell.

Later, Campbell wanted to put on his fire outfit and dance to “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown.  He is hilarious with the songs he likes.

Later, dad and Campbell were EMTs.  They were looking for people with wrecks or sports injuries.  Dad had to get hurt A  LOT for Campbell to examine.

After that, we had some kitchen renovations, and Campbell even helped us choose the new layout.  :).

2020-04-29 11.54.55

Later, it was time to work on Julie and Tracy’s lawnmower.  Campbell never wants to stop working!

April 28, 2020

Campbell dad worked another “job” today – this time as a fence repairman.  🙂

Later, we went on a pirate route!  Campbell loves dressing up!

And, we were all ready to go to bed when Julie and Tracy’s golf cart got delivered back after being repaired.  That definitely delayed bed by an hour so Campbell could repair the golf cart.  It needed 7 axles and 7 grand in repairs according to Campbell.  Tomorrow, he promised to work on Tracy’s edger.  It was hysterical.  And very hard to get good pictures in the dark!

Missing the fire museum.  Can’t go in, but can walk by!

2020-04-27 11.59.05.jpg

Later, we had a big afternoon!  Last night we stopped by Academy Sports to pick up a new bike for Campbell!  A big-boy bike with training wheels!  (Once we are better at pedaling we will take those off, and I think it will be easy for him to pick it up, but we need to get more comfortable riding first).  They made it so easy.  It was all assembled for is, and all we had to do is pull up, tell them we were there and they came out and brought it to us all assembled and everything.  Win-Win!  Campbell’s best friend in the neighborhood, Keller, learned to ride without training wheels a couple of weeks ago, so when we can play together again, Campbell will want to be able to go and ride with him.

It’s also a good way to wear him out!  We’re using popsicles to bribe him at the moment!  🙂

At first he didn’t want to pedal, but then he started getting the hang of it.  His balance is pretty good, actually!

April 26, 2020

This afternoon we went to the golf course for the first time in a while.  They were doing course maintenance during the pandemic and only 9 holes were open, and the practice areas have been closed or limited.  But, we had a great time getting out.  Campbell wanted to play but also be a “ranger” so he went and walked the first two holes with us (first time ever).  He was pretty tired after that but had a great time.
