Today, Campbell is feeling terrible still, but at least his fever was down.  He woke up at 6 with 101, but he went down for an early nap and didn’t have more fever.  He is so clingy and pitiful, though.  He didn’t want to do anything except sit in my lap.  Thankfully, he likes reading books and magazines and watching videos of monster trucks.  Today we even found out there is a school bus monster truck called “Higher Education” and a fire truck one called “Extinguisher.”  He was so excited to see those.

We decided to try something new to for entertainment – finger painting.  :).  It was about the only time he smiled all day, and even that didn’t last very long.

Campbell wasn’t sure what to make of it, and we definitely needed a bath after.  Ha.  The video isn’t my best camera work, but keep watching.  🙂

I might also have some bath pictures that turned out but the camera is in Campbell’s room and he’s asleep, so I’ll have to check that later.

Today, Campbell woke up at 4:30 with 103.4 fever.  He went back to sleep after motrin and getting some fluids, but then woke up at 6:10 and was not happy.  I never do this, but I put him in bed with me to try to get him to go back to sleep.  And, he actually slept!  From 6:10 to 7:40 without stirring.  Poor little guy.

Then, he was really sick and congested today, and when I got home from work, he had chills and his lips were blue from being cold and his hands and feet were freezing, but his fever was up to 103.7!  I made an appointment to take him to after care, but they told me that if his fever went up I should take him to the ER instead.  Well, 30 minutes later, I checked him again on the way to the appointment, and he was up to 104.2!  So we went straight to the Baptist Women’s ER.  They were so great to him.  They got us in and out in under 2 hours including a chest x-ray (clear thankfully) and a flu and strep tests (also negative).  They think he has a bacterial sinus infection, so they sent us home with some antibiotics.  He was such a trooper for all the tests with only a few moments of tears!  When they swabbed his throat a bunch of gunk came out with it – I know he’s feeling terrible.  So we got home and took a bath and went straight to bed.

Here are some pictures of Campbell at the hospital.

Campbell had so much fun this morning saying playing picaboo in the hamper.  🙂

He’s still feeling pretty terrible, though.  His fever was up to 103.4 this afternoon.  We’ve been trying to keep it down with tylenol and motrin.  Poor little guy!

February 23, 2017

Campbell has been a little under the weather the past few days.  Low grade fever and tired. But he enjoyed being dad’s “subject” today.

And, enjoyed snuggling with mom and Shamu and reading new books and cooking.  🙂

Also, we had developmental therapy this week – and we can’t believe how great Campbell is doing.  He’s really coming along with his speech – imitating everything.  It’s super cute and fun.

February 19, 2017

Campbell is TWO today!  He woke up having a conversation with himself in bed, which was really cute.  Usually he just whimpers and cries to let us know he’s ready to get up.  He’s really starting to use language more – so much that it’s hard to keep up with all the words he is saying.

We got some cute morning PJ pictures (thanks to dad’s new mad camera skills).  I just love seeing him sign “please.”  It’s so sweet.

Then we opened some presents with Pat Pat & Bing.

Then, we sang “Happy Birthday” and Campbell got to eat some of his birthday cake.  He actually ate about 3 bites this year – way better than the total refusal we got last year.  But he didn’t want any more – I think it was too sweet for him.  He was fascinated by the candle, though.  🙂

After cake, dad put together his first bike/tricycle.  🙂  Campbell already loves it.

And, finally we went to the park, where Campbell loved playing on the slide and where dad got some great pictures.

All in all, it was a great day.  Unfortunately Campbell started running a low grade fever in the evening, but hopefully just a cold.

February 16, 2017

Today was a big day!  Campbell got his first proper haircut.  Terry at Rachel’s did it, and everyone was so sweet and helpful.  Campbell did great.  He sat through the whole thing and didn’t fuss or even have his pie-pie.  I was convinced we would go and leave without getting a haircut at all!  🙂

Here are some action shots:

And, some after shots:

Mom and Campbell got to celebrate Valentine’s Day without dad.  We got a cute selfie to send him, though.  And, got a quick trip to the swing in before it started raining.

We also learned some new words today.

Taco

Costco (sorry Gigi)

And, he’s saying ABC.  🙂  It’s pretty darn cute.

February 10, 2017

Campbell thinks it is hilarious to balance between the sofa and the coffee table.  He was doing this and even went and did it on command when I said, “Campbell can you put your feet on the coffee table?”  He knew exactly what we wanted him to do so we could get a picture.

And, he still loves his rocking horse, magazines, and books.

February 1, 2017

Today mom and Campbell got to play most of the day together.  Marie was sick with the stomach flu – thankfully Campbell doesn’t have any signs of it yet!

So, mom and Campbell got to go to the park and play on the slide.  Campbell got to slide by himself like a big boy.  🙂  He even started himself.  I love his little cackle.  :).  And, he loves his Builder Bob toy.  🙂

And, Campbell spontaneously started signing “thank you.”  We have tried it a couple of times but it never took and then he started doing it on his own.  🙂  We will try to get a video.

And, Campbell has finally started to like his beautiful Swedish rocking horse that Marty and David gave him.  He wasn’t so sure about it at first.

January 30, 2017

Mom and Campbell tried to get some cute pictures for dad’s birthday today since we weren’t able to be there to celebrate with him.  We did (okay, I did) sing Happy Birthday via FaceTime.

We also got some cute pictures on the playground this afternoon.  Mom got to stay home so Marie could have an appointment.

January 27, 2017

Campbell got to stay home and play with dad today, which he loved – and they got some pictures.

I’m not sure if we have posted this on the blog yet, but Campbell is really obsessed with lamps and with catalogs.  You can see him reading the huge Restoration Hardware catalog.  He loves to read it and point to all the lamps in there.  And, he wants you to turn all the lamps in the house on and off all the time.  It’s pretty cute.

He’s also getting even better at receptive language.  He can even follow a two-step instruction (i.e., Campbell go find your ball and bring the ball to mommy) now.

And, he can walk down the stairs by himself.  (Not that I recommend this without supervision).  I turned around to shut the door at the top of the stairs, and he was halfway down before I even knew it – walking and holding onto the side.

He also loves playing with his vehicle puzzles and magnets. Who knew those were perfect to stir and cook.  🙂

And, of course, he loves to make animal noises.  🙂
