Today, Campbell had an appointment with the Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Dr. John Milam, who used to be in practice with my dad.  He got a great report!  He doesn’t have any sign of his eyes crossing or nearsightedness, and Dr. Milam said his retinas looked great, though he didn’t enjoy that part of the exam at all.  We should come back in six months for a checkup.

Here are some action shots.

Today was really cold outside, so Campbell got to wear one of his special hand-knitted caps to stay warm.

Contrast that with his outfit from later tonight.  He had a blowout diaper a little bit before bath time, so we got some cute pictures of him in just a diaper and bib.

And, love this one.  🙂

Today, Campbell was a trooper and napped through a lot of construction noise outside.  We’re getting our back patio fixed so it won’t be a safety hazard for him when he starts walking and crawling.   Today they framed up the new area that will be a deck.  Here you can see the before and after.

November 19, 2015

Today is Campbell’s 9-month actual, 6-month corrected birthday.

Here he is before his favorite activity of the day – bath time!

And, here’s a sweet one of mom and Campbell taking a nap together.  :).

Too bad that today was the first time Campbell has actually thrown up.  Apparently, he threw up three times today with Marie.  We think that it’s the combination of the dairy from the yogurt plus the congestion that’s not a good combination.  He apparently threw up shortly after eating.  So we’ll be backing off the greek yogurt until he’s feeling better.

Today, Campbell was still not feeling well and started having a lot of congestion and coughing, so we went to the doctor.  We were scheduled for our 9-month visit on Friday anyway, so they just bumped us to today so we could do both visits at once.  He’s doing okay and we just have to keep letting it run its course, but he’s been sick for a month now, so it is frustrating!

Here’s one of Campbell enjoying breakfast before going to the doctor.

And, here’s one of him just after he got his 2nd dose of flu shot.

We also got a new height and weight – he is 18 pounds, 15 ounces, so slowing down on his weight gain over the last couple of weeks.  Height is still the same – about 27 inches.

Well, today was eventful.  First, dad got some really cute pictures.

First of Campbell playing in his office.

Then, hanging out in in his podster and favorite sweater vest.

Then, because it’s downtown dining week, Dad and Campbell came to pick mom up for lunch.  We went to Bedrock Cafe in South Main only to have dad’s car die while we were trying to park.  Dad tried to turn around to park, and the wheels stopped working and we couldn’t go anywhere.  When I got out to check, the front wheels were facing each other like the car was pigeon-toed.  Obviously not good.  We managed to get it into a parking space, and then waited for the tow truck while we ate a bite.  It turns out that the driver’s side “tie rod” had snapped, so the wheels couldn’t rotate.  Of course, as if that wasn’t enough drama, Campbell had to have a blowout diaper at the same time!  I’m never going to lunch with Dad again!

Here’s a cute pic of Campbell playing in the bouncy seat while mom gets ready for work.  He’s always so happy in the mornings.

And, here he is cruising around the kitchen in his walker.  Still just going backwards, though.  :).

We bought these last year to surprise my grandfather with the baby news.  They’re cute crocheted baby boat shoes just like dad’s.  But there’re almost too small for Campbell’s ever-growing feet!

And, here is Campbell playing in his walker. He can still only go backwards, but he likes it!

November 7, 2015

Today, Campbell got the “Shamu” treatment for the first time.  She just loves to sleep on people, especially people she likes.  So, today she tried sleeping a little on Campbell for the first time.  He slept right through it!  But now I think she might be truly accepting him as a member of the family!  🙂

November 6, 2015

Well, we didn’t get any pictures there, but Campbell had his third physical therapy appointment today. He got a great report.  He’s doing well with sitting and with his tummy (though he still hates tummy time).  He’s showing a little preference for his left side (he likes to pick things up in that hand more than the right), but he does use both well, so the therapist isn’t too concerned about it at all.  We got released until February, which is great!  That’ll be Campbell’s year appointment, which is crazy!

November 4, 2015

Campbell really enjoyed his dinner tonight!  He was so cute and happy!  2015-11-04 18.02.54

And, he’s been sleeping better.  For the last few nights (with one exception), he’s gone between 8 and 10 hours without eating or needing a paci.  Once or twice we’ll hear him talking, but we haven’t had to get up with him.  Let’s hope that continues, especially since last week he was waking up a few nights like a newborn again!  He’s still running a low fever off and on and having a runny nose, but thankfully nothing like on Sunday when he had 103.2.

November 1, 2015

Well, today we didn’t get any pictures of Campbell, but we do have something to report.  This afternoon, Campbell had 103.2 fever.  Fortunately, it went down within 30-45 minutes with some baby motrin and has stayed much lower since, but still, it was alarming.  He definitely doesn’t feel very good.
