Today, Campbell got to help dad open some of this birthday presents!  He enjoyed trying to eat the paper more than anything.  2016-01-30 13.59.42-2.jpg

And, I think this cute Polo outfit is too small for him now.  The pants look like capri pants, and you can see his tummy poking through.  :).

Also, Campbell enjoyed some time outside also playing on the new porch on the beautiful quilt that Rita had made for him.

Today, dad and Campbell got some good time together after dad was out of town.  He got some cute video (which we can’t post here) of Campbell “running” in place, which is so funny.  And of him really laughing.

And, we’ve been needing to get a picture of his two bottom teeth.  They’re getting really big, as you can see here:

Still no sign of the top ones, but I’m sure they won’t be too far behind.

Today, Campbell had some good tummy time with Marie!

Also, Dad and Campbell “facetimed” for the first time today.  C loved seeing dad on screen and hearing his voice!  It’s not a substitute for being here, but it helps!

Snow day!

Well, it wasn’t quite the storm of the century that everybody suggested in Memphis, but it was Campbell’s first time out in the snow (he was in the hospital during last year’s big storm).

And, Mom got a day off!  Here’s a fun pic of mom and Campbell in the play yard.

It’s hard to tell, but Mom used an actual comb on Campbell’s hair for the first time.  And, he got all dressed up in celebration!

Later, he got to visit Marie’s house while mom and dad went to a movie.  Here is a cute pic of him after he finally conked out!

Since I didn’t have to travel this week with MLK tomorrow, I got to spend more time playing with Campbell on a Sunday than I normally will for the rest of the semester.  Campbell seemed to have fun!

January 15, 2016

Here we are really loving the oatmeal again!  Especially when daddy feeds us.

And, here’s a dad/Campbell selfie.  Dad was instructing mom on the fine art of selfie-taking.

And, Campbell is becoming a stomach sleeper!  Last night he slept from about 8-4 am on his tummy, then he flipped over for a while and was awake for a few minutes, and then flipped back over to go back to sleep.

January 14, 2016

Today, Campbell found a new friend playing in his playpen.  Shamu was there first, and she stayed there for a good little while while he played all around.

Later, he also really enjoyed his breakfast.  We made pear puree and mixed it with baby oatmeal cereal, and he loved it.  We were trying the oatmeal because Marie said his stomach was a little off.  He seems like he’s doing fine today, though, and really likes the oatmeal.

And, later he snapped a photo with Pooh!  🙂

January 13, 2016

Thank goodness dad is coming home tonight and gets to take a turn getting up with Campbell!  He kept me up for two hours in the middle of the night – was really clingy and really insisted on nursing, even though we haven’t fed him in the middle of the night in a long time.  The good news about that is that he had previously been on a nursing/biting strike, so now he’s back to nursing without refusing and without biting.  Fingers crossed this continues!

And, we got some really fun pictures at bath time tonight once dad got home.  Campbell is taking a bath in the big bathtub in his bigger tub now (and sometimes in his bath ring).  He loves bath time and loves having more space to splash around.

We’ve also been trying out a new body wash.  When I went to the dermatologist, she recommended using Cetaphil Excema Calming Wash, which has made all the difference.  C used to have really angry red places on his legs, arms, and sometimes other places too.  It’s entirely cleared up with this new regimen.  It’s really remarkable, so we’re definitely going to keep going with this.

And, he really loves his bath book and toys!

Here are a couple of shots of C playing in his playpen in the bathroom while I got dressed for work.  We survived another night and C even slept reasonably well again.  So far so good!  And, of course, we had to wear red and white to celebrate last night’s victory!  🙂

January 11, 2016

Well, we survived the first night without dad.  And, Campbell even slept pretty well, thankfully.  And, even had time to take a selfie before work.  2016-01-11 17.03.57.jpg

Campbell also got to celebrate his first Alabama national championship!  What an exciting game it was!  He stayed up and let mom watch the first half of the first quarter before we paused the game while he got a bath and went to bed.  He did get to see Alabama’s first touchdown!  I like that Campbell lives in a world where during his lifetime, the only national championship he’s seen is an Alabama victory!  🙂

Here are some cute shots from tonight in his Alabama jersey before and during the game.

And, here’s how he went to sleep tonight – on his side.  He slept that way for a long time too.

January 10, 2016

Well, today was the day we’ve all been dreading since April.  Dad had to fly back to work today.  Thankfully, Pat Pat and Bing babysat this afternoon so mom and dad were able to go to a movie and give mom some time to do some grocery shopping after dropping Mason off at the airport.

I tried to get a couple of cute pictures to share with dad while he was away.  Campbell wasn’t very cooperative, but here’s what we’ve got.

Campbell still loves to eat!  He’s doing better with finger foods and even getting little baby puffs and cheerios into his mouth at least a good part of the time.  You can see him enjoying them here with his mohawk.  🙂

2016-01-07 08.57.39.jpg

And, we’re trying to introduce more texture into Campbell’s food, and so he’s trying more things.  Tonight he tried some of dad’s smoked bbq pork shoulder.  He seemed to like it but, I won’t say that it all got swallowed.

And, after dinner we went for a walk to see the flooding.  The river is at almost 40 feet, about 6 feet above flood stage.  There’s normally a park that extends all the way beyond the second set of trees, but as you can see in the picture, it’s entirely underwater.  Thankfully, it’s cresting soon and we’re hoping this will be the worst of it.

And, below is a pic of the flooding in the wolf river on the back side of the island, closer to our house.

As part of the plan to move the playpen upstairs, we needed a place for Campbell to be able to play downstairs too – where mom and dad won’t have to worry about him escaping and getting into something he shouldn’t.  So, we got a large play yard and used some rubber floor tiles that Allison still had to create a play space for Campbell in the breakfast room.  Here are a couple of pics of him playing in his new space!  He seems to like it so far.

And, we went for a walk in the cold, and Campbell got to try out his new coat.  It’s a little big on him, but hopefully it will fit him next year too.
