Dad’s birthday! Campbell always gets to pick out gifts for Mom and Dad for their birthdays. As usual, he picked a toy truck for Dad, but he also picked a new game: Ghost Castle. Campbell has loved playing it ever since we got it. Dad also got the game Exploding Kittens, which has been another of Campbell’s most recent favorite activities.

Well, today we celebrated Dad’s birthday weekend by going to the Como Safari Park where you get to feed animals from your car. Campbell loved it! And, Mom and Dad had tons of fun, as well….except when Dad was scared of the ostriches, Mom got bitten by a zebra (the picture below shows the moment just before that), and an alpaca sneezed all over the inside of car and all over mom’s face.

Still, it was TONS of fun, and Campbell has asked to go back plenty of times.

Today we got some fun pictures out at Spring Creek for Campbell’s second Easter Egg hunt!  He also got to meet the Easter Bunny for the third straight year.

And, after the Easter Egg hunt, we thought he was too dressed up not to try to take some cute pictures around course and then also around our neighborhood.

Snow day!

Well, it wasn’t quite the storm of the century that everybody suggested in Memphis, but it was Campbell’s first time out in the snow (he was in the hospital during last year’s big storm).

And, Mom got a day off!  Here’s a fun pic of mom and Campbell in the play yard.

It’s hard to tell, but Mom used an actual comb on Campbell’s hair for the first time.  And, he got all dressed up in celebration!

Later, he got to visit Marie’s house while mom and dad went to a movie.  Here is a cute pic of him after he finally conked out!

Since I didn’t have to travel this week with MLK tomorrow, I got to spend more time playing with Campbell on a Sunday than I normally will for the rest of the semester.  Campbell seemed to have fun!

Well, this was a big day for Campbell.  First, Jeeves wanted to hang out.2015-12-01 10.55.38

But, then Campbell was a little upset when Jeeves left…

Most excitingly, though, Campbell can now travel the world with his new passport!!

And, then Campbell got a cute pic with Mom to end his day:

Today, Campbell had his six month checkup at the pediatrician.  Dr. Frizzell said he was a “big, strong, healthy” little guy.   We aren’t concerned about anything.  He was over 14 1/2 pounds, but they weighed him with his diaper and clothes on, so that’s probably something of an overestimate.  They said he was 22 inches, which is two inches shorter than they said at the physical therapist’s office.  So one of those measurements must be wrong.  Either way, according to the doctor’s office, Campbell has now officially made it onto the weight chart for a six month old.  In fact, he’s in the 5th percentile in weight for babies who are six months old.  And, if you look at the corrected age chart (for a 3 month old), he’s about average – in the 50th percentile.  Unfortunately for dad, he’s still not quite on the height chart yet for a six month old according to the doctor’s measurements.  I think dad is probably blaming me for that one…  🙂

Campbell also got his six month vaccinations, which he didn’t much enjoy.  Here’s one of him crying as she gave him one of the three shots, and you can also see the cute bugs bunny bandaids that we hoped made it a little less insulting.

And, we took him out to Porcellino’s afterwards to help him celebrate getting his shots over with.

Today is Campbell’s six month birthday!  🙂  Unfortunately, we didn’t get any cute pictures, but it doesn’t mean we weren’t excited.  It’s hard to believe this little guy has been here for six months already – and three months longer than we expected him to be.

Hard to believe how little he was at the beginning when you see how big he is now.  This preemie outfit is way to big for him here – even though this was taken on May 10 – two weeks after we brought him home and over a week before his due date!

Today we got a really cute bath picture.  He seems to not mind the transition to using the laundry room sink, which is significantly bigger.

Campbell had a busy day.  He met his first Greyhound:

And then did a lot of smiling and posing.  He’s also starting to laugh, which we are enjoying.

Today, for the first time, Campbell put the pacifier back in his mouth after it came out.  We aren’t sure if he did it on purpose or not, but he sure seems proud of himself today:

Mom went out today, and the boys played a little. And, by played, I mean Campbell smiled.

I’m sure he spit up shortly after this:

Here are a couple cute pictures from July 1 in Campbell’s cute train outfit.  He’s starting to smile more and more when you smile at him, which is a fun feeling.

Well, Campbell’s morning was no fun with a (regularly-scheduled) trip to the pediatrician.  The good news is that he is growing really well.  He’s up to 9 pounds, 9 ounces.  His height and weight progress is exactly what we want. In fact, he’s just plain fat; as the pediatrician said, “What happened to your neck?  I swear you had one last time you were here.”

The less good news is that Campbell has been having some digestive issues.  Nothing major, but we’re going to have to try to give him some apple juice to help everything get unblocked.  Even though it’s a small problem right now, we have to keep an eye on it (and, Campbell had to have a fairly unpleasant exam exploring the blockage from Dr. Frizzell).

Worst part of the exam (and that’s saying something considering the exam referenced above) was the second set of shots. Here he is just afterwards with some bandaids on the poor little guy!

It was a pretty tough day for the little guy, as you can see from his view, but it seems like he’s figured out the beach lifestyle…

Campbell had another fun day.  First, he got to meet his first Great Dane, Fancy.  Fancy was sweet to Campbell:

In typical Great Dane fashion, she wouldn’t stay still long enough to let Campbell really pose with her, but we tried anyway.

Later, Campbell got to meet Judge and Mrs. Cox.  Campbell is one of Judge Cox’s many “grandclerks” since Judge has been on the federal bench since 1981 (and is finally taking inactive status this fall).  Judge told us that Campbell would be “Camel” in grade school and Judge decided to start calling him that now.  So, here’s a picture of Judge, Mrs. Cox, Dad, and Camel:
