Sadly, we had to leave today.  But, Campbell still loved riding on the ferry. 

After the ferry, we got to stop at Lala and Grumpy’s farm.  Campbell loved seeing the miniature horses, the chickens, collecting eggs, the red truck, and playing on the trampoline.   :).  Unfortunately, it’s hard to get pictures of him because when he’s excited, he won’t smile because he’s concentrating.  Still, it was super fun.  And, considering the very long car ride from Mobile, and the awful and ridiculously long coffee stop in Collins, he really did a great job in the car.

Later, when we got to Gigi and Papa Doc’s house, there were workers at the house that’s being built across the street.  He asked if he could go give fist bumps to the construction workers.  They were confused and didn’t speak much English, but were happy to fist bump once they realized what was going on.  :).

And, later, Campbell had fun helping take the garbage out so Gigi and Papa Doc didn’t have to do it after they get in tonight late from Iceland.

More exploring around our complex this morning since (as you can see) it was too cold for the beach.  Campbell loved telling us where to go with his flashlight and stalking the construction workers.  (“They will be so excited to see me.”).

 

Later, we tried again for sunset pictures.

 

Finally, Campbell helped mommy do some laundry and loved riding on the cart.  🙂

It was pretty cold today so we played around the condo.  Thankfully there is a putting green, a shuffleboard court, corn hole toss, and – even better – construction going on in the parking lot next door.  :).

Later, we went out to the beach to try to get more sunset pictures.  🙂

Today it rained, so we went to the outlet mall to go shopping.  Campbell had a great time looking for hiding places, taking “Big Al” in the car, and finding all the toys to play with around the outlet.  He’s a super fun, happy kid most of the time!  But he is sick, and being a trooper considering that.

Later we went out to the beach – it isn’t exactly warm here – and had fun playing in the sand and trying to get some sunset pictures.

We had a fun morning at the beach, but it took Campbell a little time to warm up to the idea of the sand.  He REALLY hated it and cried at first, but then he started having fun.

 

 

Later, we went out for sunset pictures and then dinner.  All-in-all it was a great day.  And, Campbell even napped well and slept well in his pack-n-play.  Yay!

Today we went from Jackson to Fort Morgan, and we took the ferry from Dauphin Island.  Campbell ran around (I swear I got 5000 steps on a 40 minute ferry ride!) the whole time and had a blast.  He loved the ferry and seeing the oil rigs and boats.

We ran out for dinner in Gulf Shores and to the grocery store once we got in.  We got these cute pictures at dinner.

Campbell had fun playing with Kim tonight when we got to Gigi and Papa Doc’s house for a stopover en route to Gulf Shores.  They played football on the porch and had a great time.

Campbell and dad went to CMOM today.  It was super quiet, and Campbell got story time all to himself.  The story lady read Cat in the Hat, and he asked if she would read another book.  And, she told him that he was a very good listener.  He had so much fun!

More fun with the fed ex trucks and at the zoo today with dad.

Today, Mimi came back, and with her she brought Campbell’s birthday present – a cool Fed Ex car transporter truck and matching car.  And, a small fed ex delivery truck.  Campbell was so excited!

Campbell went with mom today to the vet with Shamu.  Shamu has been throwing up the past couple of days, and it looked like it might even be a little tinged in with blood.  So we took her in, and they did some tests and checked her out.  All the labs and exam looked fine, so they think it was that she needs her teeth cleaned and that was making her sick.  They gave her some subcutaneous fluids and some antibiotics and some anti-nausea medicine.  Hopefully she will start eating again when we get home and feeling better.

Campbell was super cute and sweet while we were at the vet.  And, the vet tech was so sweet to Shamu.  Shamu got super upset when they tried to take her temperature….  And, that upset Campbell, but he told he that “Shamu was his best friend” and that she was “really brave.”

Later, mom and Campbell went for a golf cart ride and tried to get a sunset selfie.

Fun zoo day today!  🙂

 

Today, we stopped in at the fire station on south main.  The firemen were so nice – they gave Campbell a cool tour, let him climb in a real fire truck, and gave him a cool fireman’s hat.  He loved it!

Today, dad and Campbell played in the back yard and went to the children’s museum.  Campbell loves to go to CMOM with dad.  🙂

Bathtime fun!

Campbell’s balloons are still up, and he’s having fun playing with them (and asking if he has any more birthday presents to open).  🙂

Today Campbell is three!  We’ve had a lot of buildup to today with the party over the weekend and a few days of gifts between Valentine’s Day and birthday.  We opened a few fun presents in the morning, and then went to the zoo.  It was a super fun day!

 

 

Later, Campbell got to open his last presents – a cool car rug and cars and street signs and houses and shops.  Super fun, and he really loved it!

 

We can’t believe he’s already 3.  It’s gone by so fast, and he’s such a fun, funny, happy, and kind little person.  We can’t wait to see what the next year brings.  We love you, buddy!

Today, Gigi and Papa Doc left and gave Campbell a cool wagon for his birthday.  He is so excited to pull it around the neighborhood with his yard equipment and his toys.  We are going to spend so much time out and about with the wagon!

He also LOVES his golf clubs, even though he clearly needs to work on his technique…
