More morning bath fun.  🙂

When I got home from work, Campbell’s cough was really sounding bad.  We tried playing a little golf and getting some fresh air, but even that didn’t help.

You can’t tell it here, but he was coughing constantly and sounded terrible.  I had a feeling it was croup, and I was worried about him sleeping and not being able to breathe with that cough, so I took him to the after hours clinic.  They are so nice there and the nurse remembered him.  Turns out he has bronchiolitis and croup.  They gave him a breathing treatment and told us to take him to the ER if his breathing got any worse.  We didn’t get home until 11:30, and I slept on the floor in his room to make sure he was okay.

Today, mom got to leave work early because of the “snow.”  Still, it was fun to play, and we were thankful that Dad was able to get home safely thanks to help from Bing.  Campbell didn’t like the snow very much when he realized it was wet and cold.  We need some waterproof clothes and gloves for when it really snows so he can have fun!

Today, we went to the library at GSL to meet with Mr. Willis to get some books.  Campbell was SO excited running around the library, and Mr. Willis was so excited to have a student who loves books so much!  He helped us pick 15 books to bring home!  Campbell was entertained all night – even by the chapter books.  Remind me to get books on cold/rainy nights!

You can see how much he enjoyed the new books:

Later, we Facebook chatted with dad, and Campbell had so much fun putting silly faces on.  🙂

I don’t have any pictures from today, but can add that we had another accident at school. We’ve been having a lot of those lately…

Then, later, we had another accident… this time in the bathtub…  🙂

Today was our planned class outing.  We intended to go to the park but it was too cold, so we opted for the Children’s Museum instead.  Got a good turnout – almost half the class was there – most of whom are pictured here.

And everyone had a great time on the carousel!

Well, one thing you can say for Campbell.  He’s definitely smart.  We have a toddler clock that tells him when it’s okay to get up (it turns yellow).  And, it turns turquoise for nap and blue for night.  You can manually change the color when you aren’t on your usual schedule.  If Campbell waits until his clock turns yellow in the morning to call to get up, he gets a spoon of cocoa almond spread.  This morning, he was ready to get up.  So he turned his clock yellow himself (manually) and then called me to tell me it was yellow, that he turned it yellow, and that it was time to get up…  (We’ve been getting up super-early because of daylight savings time).

Well, I had to give him props for creativity, so he got his spoon of cocoa almond spread this morning.  But we did move the clock out of reach from the bed after that.  Hilarious.  I also asked him how many tries it took him to do it, and he said only one.  This kid picks up on everything.  🙂

Later, he wanted to go inside the airport again when we picked dad up.

Then, we went to South of Beale for restaurant week.

It was a yucky night, so Campbell and I needed something fun to do.  We made play dough!  Or I made play dough while Campbell sprayed flour all over the kitchen (sometimes on purpose!)

Dad had to leave super-early this morning, but Gigi and Papa Doc were here for a while and later, Campbell and I went to the Children’s Museum.  We ran into his best friend Holt there, which was super fun.  They played together and even held hands as they went through the museum together.  Really sweet.

Today, Campbell went to a birthday party at a rock climbing place.  He didn’t want anything to do with it when all the other kids were around, but once we went back when it was just us, he was pretty interested.

October 31, 2018

Well, today was exciting.  I stayed home this morning with Campbell before the class party.  Campbell was playing with a cat toy in the bathroom, and he pulled it back and released it and hit me REALLY hard in the eye.  I actually thought I was blind for a moment!  Thankfully, I was able to start seeing after a couple of minutes.  Dad got me in to see an ophthalmologist here after seeing that my pupil was pretty dilated.  It’l all be fine, but there was inflammation after the injury.

Making matters worse, at just the moment that the toy accidentally hit me, I was calling the pediatrician after Campbell told me he had gotten into the children’s ibuprofin.  Thankfully, he spilled most of it and poison control said he hadn’t had enough to worry about. But it was a crazy morning nonetheless.  Last year, Campbell had strep.  I sure hope this isn’t a Halloween trend.

We managed to regroup and make it to Campbell’s class Halloween party, which was super fun, even though he didn’t want to wear his costume there.

Later, Bing picked up Dad since I was one the way back from the doctor, and we got Campbell dressed and went trick-or-treating.  He was (who knows why!) initially reluctant but really started to have fun once he got into it.  He definitely wasn’t feeling like sitting still for any pictures.

First a trip to the golf course:

And, later, more fun with the tool bench.  Campbell’s new favorite game to play is “door handle shop.”  This is similar to “ice cream truck” where you ride around on the scooter and bring stuffed animal friends to visit.  He could play for HOURS!

After this, we went to take dad to the airport.  Campbell’s been asking to come inside and see the jet bridge and other cool stuff inside the airport.  He insisted on bringing his own suitcase.  He had a blast!

Mom was super sick today, but felt a little better later on – at least up for trying to get some pictures with Halloween decorations around the neighborhood.  2018-10-20 18.20.49.jpg
