It’s hard to believe that our sweet little guy is not so little anymore.  Starting at 2 pounds 2.5 ounces, and now we need to measure and weigh him to find out how big he is!

He got to start the day by opening a couple of birthday presents – a spy/detective dress-up kit, and the book he’d really been wanting – The Red-Handed Thief.  I was so excited to give it to him after he made it at school!

Then, we took him for donuts for breakfast and to school.  And, we got to bring cupcakes (which he did not eat) and pizza to school for his class.  And, we got to watch him ring the birthday bell.  It was a super fun lunch with his class and teachers.

After that, Campbell and dad went home for nap and read books.  Then it was time for mom to come home early for gifts!  Campbell got an Osmo, some books, and some things for his detective kit – walkie talkies, a magnifying glass, and binoculars (which he’s convinced are properly used backwards).  🙂

After that, Aunt Julie called and we met her at Tamboli’s (Campbell’s choice) for dinner.

Afterwards, we went for ice cream to celebrate birthday.  All-in-all, it was a great birthday!  🙂

We got the favors for Campbell’s birthday party today.  The party is going to be at a gym (tumbling, obstacle courses, trampolines, foam pit, etc.).  So, we got American Ninja Warrior headbands made with each kid’s name on them.  Campbell really liked his!

And, when I picked him up from school, he showed me the cool book he made with Miss Sarah – The Red-Handed Thief.  This is a book that he’s seen on the back of other Berenstain Bears books and wants.  Can’t wait for him to open his presents tomorrow!  🙂  Know at least one gift will be a hit!

Campbell and mom had a big day.  School was out today with no holiday care, and I figured that out too late to do anything about it.  So, we had a super-fun day.  First, we went to the park to do construction on the new swing sets.

Then, we went to get a donut.  After that, we went to the Children’s Museum.  Campbell spent almost an hour playing “Aladdin” on the new stage in costume.  It was hysterical, and he had such a good time.

Later, we went to see Frozen II for the 8th time in the theater.  :).  After that, we met Keller and Cannon at the park and the kids got to play.  Super fun!

This is another portrait of mom.  🙂

Campbell also loved getting some cool dinosaurs for Valentine’s Day and a new Berenstain Bears book.

Today was also the Valentine’s party at school.  Campbell had so much fun!

One of the things Campbell has been loving to do at school is Show-and-Tell.  I don’t know how this started because there wasn’t a call to bring stuff to school for this.  But, somehow it started, and now Campbell wants to pick something out every day for Show-and-Tell.  It’s super cute.

What’s even funnier is what happened today.  Apparently, he forgot to bring something from home for Show-and-Tell.  So, he found a bottle of hand sanitizer (“appetizer”) in his backpack and turned it into something to bring for Show-and-Tell.  He told everyone that he was a cowboy and that the hand sanitizer was for the horse’s hooves.  :).  You never know what that kid will say!

He also told Mimmie a couple of weeks ago that he was wearing socks given to him by his “lover.”  They were Christmas socks!  I have no idea where that came from.

It’s been a super long time since we’ve been able to go to the golf course.  Campbell has been wanting to play on the simulator some since the weather has been cold, but he was really excited to get out there today.  We spent two hours!

He’s not quite ready for his bigger clubs yet – there’s still pretty long for him to manage, but he still loves playing with his other clubs!

Tonight, we went to trivia at school with some other parents.  Campbell had a play date with some friends (Zoe, Olivia, and Brooks) at Zoe’s house.  They had a big time, and Campbell loved dressing up in Zoe’s dress-up closet.  Now all he wants is his own dress-up closet.  🙂

We’ve been working practicing writing, and this morning Campbell drew a picture of mom!  He tried to erase it before I could take a picture, but you can still sort of see.  🙂

So sweet!

Also, sweet Anna, Campbell’s classmate, has been writing love notes to him.  :).  The first one is a picture of Anna and Campbell together holding hands with hearts.  The back side says CALL ANNA.  Apparently, she was trying to write CAMPBELL and ANNA, but call Anna seems appropriate too!  🙂

These are so sweet.  Apparently, they are getting married when they are older.  🙂

January 30, 2020

Campbell was so excited to sing Happy Birthday for dad’s birthday today!  🙂

Later, we got to take dad for lunch and then Mom and Dad went to Nashville for the weekend while Gigi and Papa Doc came to visit!

January 26, 2020

We tried to go bowling again last night, but it was too crowded and Campbell got SO upset that we couldn’t stay.

But, we had a great time this morning bowling.  He even wanted to throw the ball some instead of using the ramp.  And, he (with the bumpers) bowled a 95 and made a strike!  Pretty good!

January 25, 2020

We went for a ride to the park on Campbell’s scooter.  Then, Campbell created an ice cream shop while we played at the park.  Nice to have a day nice enough to get out (even if cold).

More work around the house.  And, Campbell had so much fun playing Tenzi at school today!  He wanted to play more when he found out we had it at home.  And, later, we went to Miss Cordelia’s for library night, and Campbell had fun playing a memory game with the librarian and another kid!

January 19, 2020

Today, Campbell had to have a fun play date (where we left him alone!) with Alex at his grandmother’s house.  They had a big time!

And, this morning, Campbell had fun playing his new favorite game – Flip or Flop!  It’s his favorite TV show, and Campbell to to be Izzy (the contractor), dad got to be Tarek, and I got to be Christina bringing “datsuns” to “the option.”  It’s truly hysterical.  He especially loves the really awful houses that need mold removal, asbestos abatement, and that have termite damage.  It’s hysterical to hear Campbell talking about getting new electrical, plumbing, floors, windows, and a total gut in the kitchen and bath.  🙂

January 13, 2020

Campbell has been working a lot this year on his handwriting.  He’s really coming along with his name (which has been a real struggle!).  He doesn’t like writing at all and gets easily frustrated.  But we can usually get him to do a few letters in the morning on a fancy etch-a-sketch.  This morning, he spelled a word!  :).
