We’re back home, and Campbell is back on the magna-tiles – especially all the new ones.  I only got a quick pic before he destroyed his new creation!

Also, when we got home from our trip, we discovered that Sunshine had made a new friend.  🙂  This is a sea lion we bought for Campbell when we were in San Diego right after his first birthday.  Sunshine is carrying it around everywhere and snuggling with it.  Super cute.  🙂

Today, unfortunately, we had to head back to reality.  But we stopped at the St. Louis Science Center on the way out of town. Campbell loved seeing the dinosaurs, loading coal into the furnace, playing (giant) Super Mario Brothers, and circular ping-pong.  Super fun.

Later, Campbell sacked out in the car on the drive home.  🙂

Today we went to the main children’s museum in St. Louis – The Magic House.  Believe it or not, there are 8 children’s museums in St. Louis!  This place was awesome.  I love the cute picture of him dressed up as a St. Louis Blues – especially since they just won the Stanley Cup!  Also, they had the most fun outdoor construction area.  It was so fun for Campbell to lay floors, plumbing, tiles, and to use the digger and skid steer.  A perfect fit for our new favorite obsession – home improvement shows like Fixer Upper!  🙂

Also, there was the civic area with a courtroom and a mini oval office.  As he was standing at the mic in the oval office he kept saying “checking in with Mars 1.”  (I swear we didn’t tell him to say this).  He also said something super funny in the courtoom, but Mason is going to have to remind me!  He loved it.

Later, we went tubing at Hidden Valley.  We didn’t tell Campbell where we were going – just that we needed to wear his snowsuit.  I’ve never seen him as excited as he was when he pulled up and when he saw what we’d be doing.  He said it was the best day ever and the best thing ever!

When we first got there, we had to wait awhile while someone was taken away in an ambulance…  And, we worried that once we got Campbell to the top of the hill, he would be too scared to go down.  But he was SO BRAVE!  This was a seriously steep and fast hill!  Even for grown-ups.  There was an older boy (Liam, 10) next to us that Campbell started talking to when we were waiting in line.  I think Liam talking to him about how fun and great it was made him not scared at all!  No one could believe that he was four and that he was going down on his own!   He was super funny after he went down a couple of times because they were asking for people to separate to keep all the open lanes going.  Campbell volunteered to go down by himself (not with one of us riding down a different lane a the same time).  Everyone thought that was hysterical!  (Clearly, we didn’t do that!).

This morning, we got up and went to the City Museum in St. Louis, which is pretty hard to describe, but awesome.  We spent the morning there then came back for a nap and went back for the evening for more fun.  Campbell was afraid of some of the outdoor scaffolding (to be fair, mom didn’t like it much either), but he was really brave about some big and steep slides.  Super fun time!  We will definitely be back here.

Campbell was really great on the car ride to St. Louis today – and even serenaded us.  🙂

He was SO excited to be in the hotel.  I can’t remember exactly what he said as we were walking in the lobby, but it was so funny (and excited) that everyone around us started laughing at the funny things he was saying.  🙂

He was most excited about the fact that we had an indoor pool.  Mom was less excited when she felt how cold it was…  The hotel and pool might be the highlight of the trip.  🙂

Campbell got to open a few more presents with the cousins today.  His favorite (maybe of all of Christmas) was the stomp rocket!  He (and Patrick and Stewart and dad) had more fun playing with that than anything!  🙂

Campbell’s first order of business today was to go on a police route with his new police outfit on his scooter.  He is hysterical.  Really never know what he’s going to say.

But, he still loves to sing original blessings (even if the music is too loud in the background!)

Look what Santa brought for Campbell!

Campbell had a big time with Santa this morning.  Santa brought a cool magnetic/electric car track, Olaf, some books, and a cool remote-controlled fire truck.  I’d say it was a big hit.

Later, Campbell wanted to watch Frozen and snuggle with everyone while watching Frozen!

Then, tonight, he got to open presents from mom and dad.  There were some cool things like a rescue helicopter, nano-bots and a cool nano-bot space station, a lego fire truck, and Campbell’s favorite – a police officer outfit!  :).   One of his favorite things to do was to play cops and robbers.  He loves for robbers to  steal the fun play money that Gigi and Papa Doc gave him.  We run and hide with it and he loves to come investigate to try to find us.   All-in-all, it was very successful Christmas!  🙂

Campbell loved making reindeer food and leaving it out for Santa’s reindeer.  We made reindeer food (sprinkles, glitter, and oatmeal) and sprinkled it in the yard.  And, he wanted to leave carrots on the roof, as well.  We also got to make cookies and milk for Santa!

Campbell also loves to sing the blessing before meals.  He doesn’t just go with a usual blessing – he likes to spontaneously make up his own.  It’s so sweet.

Today, we got to have an early Christmas in Memphis before going to Jackson later in the day.  Campbell didn’t know he was going to get to open presents, and he was SO excited – especially about his books and his legos!.  🙂
