Today we went to the main children’s museum in St. Louis – The Magic House. Believe it or not, there are 8 children’s museums in St. Louis! This place was awesome. I love the cute picture of him dressed up as a St. Louis Blues – especially since they just won the Stanley Cup! Also, they had the most fun outdoor construction area. It was so fun for Campbell to lay floors, plumbing, tiles, and to use the digger and skid steer. A perfect fit for our new favorite obsession – home improvement shows like Fixer Upper! 🙂
Also, there was the civic area with a courtroom and a mini oval office. As he was standing at the mic in the oval office he kept saying “checking in with Mars 1.” (I swear we didn’t tell him to say this). He also said something super funny in the courtoom, but Mason is going to have to remind me! He loved it.
Later, we went tubing at Hidden Valley. We didn’t tell Campbell where we were going – just that we needed to wear his snowsuit. I’ve never seen him as excited as he was when he pulled up and when he saw what we’d be doing. He said it was the best day ever and the best thing ever!
When we first got there, we had to wait awhile while someone was taken away in an ambulance… And, we worried that once we got Campbell to the top of the hill, he would be too scared to go down. But he was SO BRAVE! This was a seriously steep and fast hill! Even for grown-ups. There was an older boy (Liam, 10) next to us that Campbell started talking to when we were waiting in line. I think Liam talking to him about how fun and great it was made him not scared at all! No one could believe that he was four and that he was going down on his own! He was super funny after he went down a couple of times because they were asking for people to separate to keep all the open lanes going. Campbell volunteered to go down by himself (not with one of us riding down a different lane a the same time). Everyone thought that was hysterical! (Clearly, we didn’t do that!).
