I promise he’s not always this happy.  🙂

Like, for example, when he’s at the doctor.  Today, Campbell had his 15 month checkup. He is 31 inches tall (up from 28 inches last time), and a little over 22 pounds.  The doctor says he looks great and is doing really well.  We’re supposed to “keep up the good work.”

And, here are some action shots from his shots.  Unfortunately, he had to have 3 today. Thankfully, he doesn’t usually stay mad too long.

Campbell is really getting around and into things.  Today he pulled a lamp off a table and cut his head.  Thankfully, nothing serious, and the lamp will survive with a little glue.  I have a feeling that having an orthopedic surgeon as a grandfather will come in handy.  🙂

Today was a BIG day!  Campbell took his first steps today!  We tried hard to get a video – it wasn’t perfect, but you can get the idea here.  Yay!  Just a little shy of his 15 month actual/12 month corrected birthday.

Today, Campbell got to help celebrate mom’s 40th birthday.  Mom got to coordinate graduation while dad planned a birthday surprise party!

And, earlier in the day, we went out for birthday brunch.

Campbell went to BBQ fest for the second time today.  He especially loved the baked bean samples.  And, he loves to push around chairs in the kitchen to practice walking.

Campbell loves to ride around in his walker.  For a long time, he could only figure out how to go backwards, but now he gets all around!

Um, so much for our baby gates with the pet door.  🙂  Looks like we’re going to need a new solution.  What a smart little guy we have!

Today we met with the developmental therapist again.  We worked on some things to help him start vocalizing and talking more.  He was pretty quiet for her, but I think he said “cup” (or at least the beginning of the word cup) at lunch just before she left.  Also, she taught us a few baby sign language signs, so we may try using these with him.  We learned, “more,” “please,” and “all done.”  Campbell still has no idea what they mean.  🙂

But we did get some cute pictures.

And, here’s a precious video of him laughing at dad saying funny Spanish words.  🙂

And, one of him crawling.  He’s getting so good at it and fast now.  🙂

And, the cats are finding a new use for the changing table – as an escape from Campbell’s mobility.  🙂

Campbell still loves the swing!

And, light up peace signs:

And, finding new kitchen drawers to play in.  🙂

And, we had our first physical therapy appointment today.  She thought Campbell was doing great and that he had made loads of progress.  She still thinks he could benefit from PT, so we are going to see if TEIS was willing to have us have weekly appointments.  She said he had good motor planning, and that he benefits from having calm parents. :).

Feeding fun!  We’re trying to do it naked to cut down on the mess!  🙂

Today, we also had a visit from the TEIS developmental therapist.  She thought Campbell was doing great.  She saw how much he has advanced on his physical development in the last few weeks, and she said that she wasn’t too concerned about his speech development yet.  Looking at his corrected age, he looks to be doing okay.  And, it’s a little early for speech therapy, yet.  So we might decide that he needs it in a few months, but we don’t think we need it yet.

Tomorrow, we have physical therapy, so we will see what kind of report we get tomorrow.
