Gigi ordered Campbell a new edger after she found out his was broken.  It came today, and Campbell was so happy to play with it.  Thankfully, he’s feeling a little better.  Still some fever and not much appetite, but he’s much, much better than yesterday.

He’s also doing pretty well with potty training – at least with tee-tee.  We aren’t accident-free, but he’s asking to go, most of the time making it, and generally getting the hang of the tee-teeing in the potty part.  #2 on the other hand…  isn’t going so well at all.  No successes yet, but we keep trying…

Well, it was an eventful Father’s Day.  We got to see Papa Doc this morning before he left to go back to Jackson.  And, Campbell started playing with the Lego train set.  This kept dad and Campbell entertained all day for the U.S. Open.

You’d have no idea from these pictures that Campbell didn’t feel good.  He woke up from his nap with 102.4.  He said his tummy hurt, but he didn’t seem too bothered by any of it.  Later we went out and played a little golf and rode around in the golf cart.  It was hot, but Campbell didn’t play long or run around much.  But he asked to come home, and when we came inside he wanted to snuggle on me, and he was burning up.  I’m sure it was partly from being outside, but his temp was 104.8.  Needless to say, we ran off in a mad dash to get to the urgent care center out by Costco before it closed.  On the way, Campbell was so pitiful – I couldn’t even get him interested in swiping on my phone.  And, he first started spitting up a little.  I should have seen it coming, but about the time we got off at 385, he had projectile vomited all over me, himself, the carseat, and the car.  What a complete mess it was!  And he was inconsolable.  He was so upset and miserable.  Thankfully, we got there about 5 minutes before they stop taking people.  They remembered him from the last time we were there, and they couldn’t believe the difference in how he was this time.  Thankfully, his fever had fallen a good bit by the time we got there.  And, they gave him some Zophran, which made him feel better almost immediately.  His through looked very infected, so they think it’s strep and started him on an antibiotic and sent it off for a strep culture.  He was such a trooper through all of it, poor baby.  I’m so thankful dad was there to help and that Campbell is feeling better – Happy Father’s Day, Mason!  :).

Well, potty training didn’t go so well at school today – lots of accidents.  But Gigi and Papa Doc got to come and help!  We went to Loflin yard (thankfully only one accident – and outside in the grass), and we took Campbell’s golf clubs to play with.  He loved playing outside and hitting his golf balls from the elevated practice area into the red garbage cans.  He even made two holes in one!  🙂

He also loved watching the train with Gigi.

Well, it’s here – the washer and day 1 of potty training.  Dad was a real trooper today – Campbell was not pleased and fought about putting on his underpants.  We had a lot of accidents, but Campbell finally tee-teed on the potty tonight, and we had a lollipop and a trip on the golf cart to play golf as a treat!

Let’s hope it helps to go to school tomorrow!  🙂

Dad and Campbell went to the Children’s Museum while Izabela came to clean.  🙂  2018-06-11 11.29.44.jpg

It’s probably going to be our last trip to the Children’s Museum for a while, since Campbell is about to start potty-training.

You can’t tell from this picture how hard it was to get these nighttime pulls on him instead of a diaper.  He cried for an hour and then agreed to try them on.  He didn’t sleep in them, but he sure did want to see how they looked in the mirror.  😉  Let’s hope it gets easier from here once the washer gets here on Wednesday.

We went back to the golf tournament today.  We were there for almost 3 hours, which was pretty good considering how hot it it was.  Of course, we spent an hour and later 45 minutes playing putt-putt.  They didn’t have a lefty kids putter, so Campbell had to use a right handed one.  He was super confused for a while, but then he got the hang of it.  They promised to have a left-handed kid putter next year for him.

We also got a hat signed by Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau and ate more popsicles.  🙂

After watching the golfers in their hats and gloves, Campbell had to have his own.  Brannon and Julie sent these cute tractor socks (aka golf or cooking gloves).  Way to keep your eye on the ball, Campbell!

We got weekend passes for the Fed Ex/St. Jude Golf tournament.  Campbell has been before, but he was too little to remember.  We got to see Phil play, get a popsicle, and see Tony Finau putt. It was super hot, and Campbell didn’t last too long, but he did have a really good time.

June 2, 2018

The weekend after we got back to Memphis, there was a “touch-a-truck” event on Mud Island.  It was super hot, but Campbell had a great time – especially on the monorail.

Later, dad and Campbell worked on riding his tricycle.  He loves his tricycle – even though he’s not totally riding it on his own yet.

Memorial Day 2018

We got back from Portugal and the croquet tournament weekend started right away.  On Sunday night Campbell came out for the hamburger supper, and he tried croquet for the first time.  He was a natural and was really better than the four-year-old (Fletcher) that he spent some time playing with.  Dad and Papa Doc watched to make sure he wasn’t going to hurt the court, but he was really good.  His golf swing definitely helped.  We were all very proud, especially with all the ooohs and aaahs we heard from the other people who were watching and couldn’t believe how good he was!

The next day he came back out and tried again and started trying to hit between his legs – and even made a wicket or two.  Watch out PMC!  🙂

We got to have some fun pool time also on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning (that still counts as part of the weekend, right)?  Swim lessons didn’t go so great, and Campbell got a little scared of the pool.  So we tried to ease him in and get him to have fun.  You’d never know he was reluctant from these pictures.  He loved playing with his watering can, having dad blow water at him from a pool noodle, and playing in his “boat,” and even jumping off the side at the end.  And, more of the same (though still a little scared) on Wednesday morning before we left.

And, here’s Campbell being silly hiding in the dryer as we were packing up to go home.  🙂

May 14 – May 25, 2018

Mom and dad went to Portugal, and Gigi, Papa Doc, and Kim babysat Campbell while we were gone.  We had a great trip, and Campbell had a great time too.  I am not sure exactly what happened on any particular day, but highlights are:

Serious dominoes:

First swim lesson (which was great, but swimming went downhill after that).IMG_0233may 16 20180.JPG

Attempt at potty training (didn’t last too long!).

Having a time out after hitting Gigi and refusing to apologize:

“Matching” Gigi (he loves to match):

And his “feetbelt”

Finally, they did so much yard work!  He even gave himself a “yard work” name:  “Ducan (doo-can) Fisk.”  We have no idea where he got this.   Here are two cute videos of Campbell copying Tony with his edger.  He wants to do yard work all the time!

Thank you Gigi and Papa Doc!

This morning we went to “touch-a-truck” in Germantown before mom had to go to run graduation.  It took Campbell a minute to warm up – there were a lot of kids there – but when he finally did, he loved climbing in all the trucks.  He also got a free book from the library.
