Dad and Campbell got to go for popsicles today after school. 🙂

And, another picture of group work from school!

After that, a big day and a lot of tears driving across the bridge to get Campbell’s first COVID-19 shot. He was so upset that we were taking him and so scared. John Spotts (the father of one of Campbell’s classmates, though we only found that out later) was the pharmacist who gave him the shot. He was incredible. Campbell went from crying one second to shouting “you’re a genius!” Then he came out and told everyone else who was waiting “don’t worry, he’s a genius.” He says he doesn’t mind getting a second shot as long as John gives it to him. :).

We were very proud of him even though he was scared. And, we promised him that we could go to wal-mart to pick out a toy afterwards. He picked out the game, CLUE! I have a feeling that’s going to be a hit.

Dad also got a flu shot and confirmed John’s “genius” status.

Campbell bonked his head on the play structure at school today. I think he’s fine, but it’s a nice bruise he’s got. He can hide it under the cool mask he got in aftercare.

Mom got to have a colonoscopy today, and Campbell was so sweet about that. Thankfully, all was normal, and I’m clear for another 10 years. One of our neighborhood friends ended up being my CRNA, which was fun! (Or as fun as that can be).

Dad and Campbell got to do jobs afterwards!

And, we sometimes get fun pictures from school. Campbell’s science teacher, Mrs. Plumley, is awesome, and they love iLab. Here they are doing a rain/cloud experiment. (Campbell with Banks Fisher).

Today, Campbell got to check out his cool James Bond gun we got him to use with for his Halloween costume. I think he was pretty excited about it. :).

Later, we went to two Trunk or Treats – one at several churches (including GSL) and one at Miss Cordelia’s. He had such a good time and already has SO MUCH CANDY!

Today was the Halloween Party at school. So fun! It was the first time parents have been able to come together for a school person with the kids. We got the gym so everyone could space out and run around, and it was so much fun!

After the party, we stopped by to see Mr. Willis in the library and got some new books. Campbell was so excited! 🙂

October 27, 2021

Today was a sad day. Our friends Amalia and Ivan and their kids Camilla (Cami) and Lucas are moving to Florida. Today was the last day we got to see them, so we had a going-away party at soccer.

October 24, 2021

Today was a day for art. First, Campbell drew the “crawler” that carries the space shuttle to the launch pad.

Later, he went to St. Mary’s Cathedral to create a blessing cup. 🙂

Then, since we were dressed up, we decided to try for some pictures in the backyard.

After that, it was time to do jobs!

Later, dad flew to Virginia for work, and Mom and Campbell went for a walk (and a splash). The last two are blurry but fun!

Poor Campbell! We had such a hard morning! He had a splinter in his foot and was so upset and scared about getting it taken out. We were late for school and had many tears. :(. Poor guy! It was so hard to convince him it would hurt more to leave it in than to take it.

More fun at soccer today! Cute, but maybe not quite as cute as one of my favorite throwback pictures from when Campbell was 4. 🙂

October 15, 2021

Campbell loves James Bond. He’s been watching James Bond car chases with Papa Doc, and he’s obsessed. He wanted to be James Bond for Halloween, so we found him a really fun one. :). Here he is seeing it and trying it on for the first time. :).

Campbell has so enjoyed the work in the neighborhood. We were home today for Fall Break and got to do construction.

Later, we went to the Children’s Museum for the first time since right before COVID hit and had the best time. :).
