We are still trying to get Christmas pictures. 🙂

On Sunday night (Dec. 11) Pop (Meredith’s grandfather) died at 99 (nearly 100). So, we went to Indianola for the funeral. It was very sad for Meredith, but he lived a long and wonderful life. And, thankfully, we were able to get some great pictures of Campbell at Joyland Plantation.
First, Campbell got to see a real tractor and combine! He even got to get up in the cab with dad.
And, we got a cute picture with Patrick and Stewart:

Today, Campbell got to have his second visit with Santa. I won’t say it was as cute as his last one …

But, still, we got some good pictures. Spring Creek always does such a nice job making it a great experience.
Here were some pictures dad got as Campbell got to run around on the 10th tee box.
And, for the main event:
And, for what you can’t see here: Santa had a gift for Campbell – Little Blue Truck’s Christmas. He knows exactly what Campbell likes. :). Santa even read him a few pages.
And, you can see here what a nice experience they made it on the Polar Express. Campbell was much more interested in the train tracks and trains than he was in Santa. 🙂

Finally, some out takes. 🙂

Day 3 of bottle weaning is still going okay. Campbell looked for his bottle on the bathroom counter (warming in the cup of hot water) where it usually is before bath time, and he did not appreciate finding it empty. Thankfully dad gave an assist with the bath (he did not enjoy his bath after that), and he went down okay, thankfully.
Today, we had to get C all bundled up to go to the farmer’s market because it was really cold outside.
And, we tried late for some family pictures at the Peabody, but it was really crowded and Campbell was in a terrible mood! 🙂

Hopefully tomorrow with Santa will be better. 🙂
December 9, 2016
There were too many cute pictures today to narrow it down! I love how Campbell “loves” on things by putting his head down on them. Shamu is very tolerant. 🙂
Campbell is also really into straws these days. He wants to drink anything and everything from a straw. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like to wear his Santa hat that much. 🙂
And, we’re on day two of bottle weaning at night. He did pretty well, actually. We tried a sippy cup with a straw instead, but he didn’t want anything to do with it. He did look around and ask for his bottle, but he went to bed without it without much fussing. We have a new substitute – Llama Llama Red Pajama. It’s his new favorite book. :).
December 8, 2016
Well, this is big news. We put Campbell to bed without a bottle for the first time last night. He wasn’t very excited about it – it took him a REALLY long time to fall asleep, but he just moved around and wasn’t really fussing. So it’s bittersweet for mom (and probably just sucks for Campbell!) but he’s getting too big, and it’s time to let it go. We will try again tonight and see how it goes.
He did get a great report from developmental therapy too. She continues to think it’s hilarious how he loves the magazines, and she thinks he’s doing really well with his receptive language in particular. We’re continuing to work on getting him to feed himself and eat more pick up foods, but he is getting a good balance of food, so we aren’t too worried about it.
And, now that dad’s home and there are two of us to help, we are trying to get some cute Christmas pictures. 🙂
And, he’s really starting to babble and chatter more. Especially with dad. It’s super-cute.
First, C loves to sit in the back of his dump truck. :). And, here’s one of him “loving” the Christmas tree. 🙂
We will keep trying. But we still love bath time. 🙂
December 5, 2016
As you can see, we have the Christmas tree up in the background. I was convinced that it would be a disaster, but Campbell has really not paid much attention to it. I’m sure it helps that we have lights but not any decorations. But, still, it’s gone better than I thought. We even put up one of the lamps back on a table, and he’s mostly ignored that too. And, the other trees we put out on another table. Baby steps. :).
On Thursday, dad got home for the rest of the semester, which is great! It’s nice to have him here. And, since Marie’s daughter is getting married, dad’s been getting a lot of good quality time while mom’s at work.
As you can see, C is still loving to read books and magazines.
And, we got a good report from physical therapy last Thursday. He’s doing well with his orthotics, and she was impressed with how he navigates unsteady ground and how aware he is of everything.
And, he still loves to play with pots and pans. He wants to stir everything with all of mom’s favorite spoons and utensils. 🙂 I think Campbell should ask Santa for a play kitchen. 🙂
And, he’s starting to verbalize and vocalize more. He is “quacking” like a duck now. That’s his favorite. 🙂
November 30, 2016
Today, Campbell got to dress in his cute shirt that Pat Pat and Bing brought from Sweden. We needed to send some pictures to Marty and David since Mason spent the night there halfway home in the car. We also got a new travel magazine in the mail, and he loved it!
And, since Mom has been sick this week, Campbell kept wanting to play with the coffee cups full of hot tea. Thankfully, Aunt Charlotte gave dad a plastic coffee mug a few years ago that was perfect for C to play with. It’s a new favorite toy. 🙂

November 24, 2016
Today is Campbell’s second Thanksgiving! He got to use his silver spoon and fork (not quite ready for the knife yet!) and enjoy turkey, gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, and green beans. He likes Thanksgiving food a lot more than mom and dad did. And, he got to play with his second cousin LiLou and his older cousins, Aubrey, Stewart, and Patrick.

November 22, 2016
We’ve been kind of quiet the past couple of weeks because Campbell has been under the weather. Last week he was so pitiful. He had a terrible runny nose and congestion. He didn’t sleep well at all, getting up multiple times a night and fussing all night long, which isn’t like him at all. He couldn’t suck on his pacifier because he couldn’t breathe and suck at the same time. It was super pitiful. :(.
But, thankfully, he is doing better now. And, he continues to be into his books and magazines and cookware. 🙂
Today, C was feeling well enough to come up to school to visit with the therapy dogs we have to help the law students. 🙂
