Today mom and Campbell went shoe shopping since dad had to leave for Virginia on a 6:15 a.m. flight.  Thankfully, this is the last trip until August!  We are definitely ready to have dad home for awhile.

Here are some action shots from shoe shopping (not that he wanted to cooperate).

You can see that Campbell is getting more of the run of the house.  Here is he cruising around the kitchen.  He also crawled to the door to go see where dad was going outside.

He also likes crawling to the bathtub.  :).  Need to babyproof those cabinets if we want to avoid detours along the way!

And, finally, he still loves bathtime.  Especially when mommy shampoos his hair.  🙂

Today, dad got some cute pictures of Campbell in his robe hanging out in his playpen right after he got up.  These are so cute that I couldn’t choose!

Also, you can see that he can now stand himself up in the playpen.  This was harder than elsewhere because there wasn’t anything good to grab on to.  But he has figured it out!

And, later, Campbell got to hang out on his new Alabama quilt.  One of my law school friends (Tom Jamerson) quilted it himself and sent it to Campbell.  So nice of him!

Today, dad got some cute pictures while mom was at work.

In the bottom left, you can see him checking out his new baby gate with a pet door for the kitties.  Hopefully this will help us keep him out of the front of the house where all the breakables are!

In other news, Campbell is doing really well with his crawling.  He’s starting to do a proper crawl more and more instead of just the “army” crawl that he was doing before.  And, he can climb all the way up the first part of our stairs.  He’s getting really good at it.  I think it’s time for more baby gates!  :).

Campbell still loves to eat black beans.  🙂

And, likes being naked.  He still has a lot of rolls, but he’s definitely trimming down some. I can even see his ribs when he reaches for his toys in the bathtub.  Seems like only yesterday that we could barely find his neck!

Pat-Pat and Bing got these cute pictures today when they babysat.  It was also Campbell’s second Masters, but I am not sure he knew the difference this time!

Campbell can ride on your shoulders now without needing too much support.  Unfortunately, he likes to grab fists full of hair when he does it.  Not such a problem for dad, but a bigger one for me!

And, we still love to go to the park and swing!  🙂

You can’t tell it here, but for the last few days, Campbell has been saying mama!  It seems reserved for when he is upset and really wants something.  (Like when he wants to get out of his crib after a nap or out of the play pen.  It’s pretty cute, though, and I’ll take it!  🙂

Marie is back, and Campbell was excited to see her!

And, they went for a walk in the gorgeous weather today!

Mom and Campbell also went for a walk later to Miss Cordelia’s, and we encountered a bunch of ducks.  They were so tame and let Campbell and the stroller get really close.  He thought that was really fun.  🙂

We also realized that we don’t have many pictures to show how much progress Campbell is making with his motor skills.  He is really cruising around, and dad couldn’t believe how much he had progressed in just a few days while he was in Virginia.  So, here are a couple of pictures of him “cruising” around the living room.  Babyproofing, here we come!

And, we also got a few cute shots at the playground.  He loves the playground and can even kind of climb the stairs up to the slide. And, he seems to like the slide better – at least if you go down with him.  :).

Well, we don’t have any pictures to prove it, but we do have a couple of milestones today.  First, we gave Campbell’s hair a trim for the first time.  It was just around the ears where it was really long, but it looks a lot better already.  We managed to avoid disaster, but he was certainly interested in the scissors!

And, it looks like the reason Campbell has been so fussy and running a little fever off-and-on for the past week or so is because he is teething!  This morning when I was nursing him, something felt different – and not in a good way!  Sure enough, I checked and I can feel two teeth coming in on the top.  Let’s hope this misery doesn’t last too long for him.

Gigi came to visit to help babysit while Marie was in Hong Kong.  She tried out a new idea for bathing Campbell, and he seemed to like it.  🙂
