Today is Campbell’s birthday! It isn’t exactly how we planned it to be (in the middle of a 50-year snow), but we’re embracing it and trying to make it as fun and memorable as possible! First,, we made coffee cake for Campbell and put six traffic cone birthday candles on for a special birthday breakfast. Later, we had virtual school, and the kids got to say happy birthday to Campbell, which was so fun!

Later, we got to open some birthday presents. Campbell was so excited. :). He loved that they were wrapped in Harry Potter paper!

Later, we got to fill the bathtubs on the way to Campbell’s birthday party. (Since we’ve had such a hard freeze, water mains are breaking all over the city). We ordered pizza to the park for a sledding party for Campbell and a few neighborhood friends. Restaurants shut down city-wide just after we placed the order, so we just got in under the wire! And, thank goodness Miss Cordelia’s had balloons and cupcake supplies to add to what we had left over from last year – birthday banner, cups, plates, spoons, candles. Campbell also requested sprinkle cupcakes. :). And, he told me I made the most amazing frosting. :).

Sledding fun – someone made a jump, and the kids had so much fun! :).
Later, mom and dad redid Campbell’s room in Harry Potter as a surprise birthday present. We converted his toddler bed into a full bed, got a new mattress and box spring, new Harry Potter sheets, bedding, artwork, pillows, and a lamp. We intended to do this while he was at school, but with the snow storm, we had to improvise. Thankfully, Lindsey invited Campbell to play with Keller and Campbell after his birthday party so we could fix up his room without him being home.
He peeked before we were ready (stinker!), but I think he didn’t realize it was all Harry Potter, so we still had a pretty fun surprise for him. The last gift he opened was a Harry Potter letter pillow with the letter telling Harry he was a wizard and invited to attend Hogwarts. Then, Campbell got to take it upstairs and see his room. He was over the moon excited about it. (I’m not sure who was more excited – mom for finding all the stuff and decorating – or Campbell with the finished product). Mom and dad did have some trouble with the bed, so we just put the box spring and mattress on the floor for the reveal and will figure it out later… :).

And, finally a last couple of presents before bed. :). The invisibility cloak was definitely the favorite gift – even more than the nerf guns. :). All-in-all, it was an amazing day! 🙂 Happy Birthday, Campbell! We love you!
