More dress up and police and fire routes. Dad and Campbell were looking for speeders.

And, Campbell has been picking out his own clothes and putting his clothes on all by himself. :). This is what he wanted to wear today. 🙂

More of Campbell’s insights on the coronavirus.
Later Mom and Campbell went on an FBI route while dad was teaching. We saw some folks moving, and Campbell had so much fun dancing in front of this mirror. 🙂

We went on a family adventure this morning. Dad and Campbell had a fun time skipping rocks on the creek. 🙂
Later, Campbell and mom constructed an amazing town on his rug! We made Chip and Jo-Jo’s Farm (from Fixer Upper). There was also a flip and a school and all sorts of stuff for the town.

Later, mom made sidewalk puff paint and we painted all around the neighborhood. Then, Campbell decided it would be fun to paint me! 🙂
Campbell is doing a great job giving up his pacifiers, so we ordered a Lego set that should be here on Monday. He can have it if he keeps going. He’s still a little sad sometimes about it, and mom is upset that it is definitely reducing her snuggle time. But it’s a big milestone!
Also, Campbell wants to do a weather report on the flood by the river. 🙂
Later, Campbell and dad went to the park. We opened a new present from Campbell’s birthday party. It was a school supply kit with a cool backback, note pad, erasers, scissors, etc! He loved it and has had so much fun playing with it!
Later, we saw Daniel Bird, a dentist in our neighborhood who’s daughter took care of our cats while we were in Colorado. He was riding his motorcycle. When Campbell saw him, he went to the garage to get his motorcycle out to show him. He was SO excited! 🙂
Campbell has virtual school each day, and they always have show-and-tell, which they love! Campbell went as a police officer for show-and-tell today.

Before school, we played a game. We’ve been trying to get Campbell to like games. This one is Old Maid. He got so upset the first time he got the Old Maid! :).

Later, we had fun running around the neighborhood and getting some air.
We also did yard work. Campbell loves to do yard work!
And, we played Vet! It was so cute!
Also, here’s Campbell talking about some of the parts he does and doesn’t like about being home all the time and about what he wants to do when it’s all over.
And, this afternoon ,Campbell (out of nowhere) walked to the garbage can and thew his pacifier in. He said he didn’t need it anymore! Wow! We were definitely not expecting that, but definitely tried to take advantage of the opportunity. We told him that if he went three days without it, he could pick out any Lego set he wanted! He was great most of the day, but he got a little upset that night about it before bed. He did go down without it. He woke up a couple of times in the night and a lot earlier than usual, but all-in all, it was a great success!
Today was a big day. Dad heard some trucks outside, and we went out to see what it was. There was a concrete crew fixing parts of the sidewalk all around the neighborhood. Campbell and I watched them for 2 hours while dad taught his classes. Then, he came and they stayed out for another hour. It was a wonderful distraction while we are so cooped up in the house. He had a big time “working” with the crew, directing traffic, fixing the roads, etc.
Later, we went on a bike ride and found a fun rainbow.

And, Campbell had some nice things to say about Patrick and Stewart.
Campbell and mom have had fun playing with the lego garage set from Pat-Pat and Bing. And, Campbell has been watching more TV than usual. Paw Patrol has commercials… 🙂

Also, now mom is officially working at home too, starting March 19.
This morning we went on an adventure. Campbell dressed up as Teddy Roosevelt, his favorite character from Night at the Museum. He loves that movie. So cute!

Later, we went to the car wash and cleaned out dad’s car. Campbell’s never been through the car wash and had a blast with that and helping us vacuum the floors and the floor mats. And, we went to get a pizza at Pyro’s – Campbell’s favorite – for pi day!

Later, mom and Campbell snuggled with the kitties.

Campbell and dad went out looking for toilet paper today, but Costco was too packed to get in (a line around the door) since there was a run on toilet paper. Dad went to Target, and they were unpacking boxes of toilet paper, so thankfully, he got some so we won’t run out. Crazy times!
Also, we went to the drive-in movie tonight. Thought that was a good way to social distance while still doing something fun with Campbell. We saw Onward. He loved it!
Today, Campbell went for his second day of CLUE (gifted) class at Downtown Elementary. We were really impressed with the CLUE teacher there, Latrice Leggs, during Campbell’s testing. We haven’t been able to work it out to go this spring, but Campbell’s spring break was the week before the spring break for Shelby County Schools. So, he got to go on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Ms. Leggs was so funny about Campbell. She said on Tuesday that he gave her most verbal student a run for her money. She said he acclimated well. And, he wore his police outfit to school. When the morning announcements came over the loudspeaker, he told everyone to be quiet because that was his dispatcher calling with his job. He also thought her name was hilarious, so he started calling her Ms. Sunglasses. Thankfully, she thought this was really cute and funny. She said she wanted to have him back any time he could come.
After that, Campbell and Dad went to the fire station. They had a big time. Good thing too, because it’s probably the last time we’re going to get to do something like this for a while. The coronavirus pandemic has been getting worse, and now dad’s gotten word that his classes will be online for the next few weeks. We’ll have to stay away from other people and do our best to stay away from germs. We also got word this morning that Shelby County Schools will be closed tomorrow for at least three weeks. And, then once that announcement was made, the University of Memphis went online for the rest of the semester. Staff are still supposed to come, but we’ll see how long that lasts.
This is the week of Campbell’s spring break and dad’s, and they are excited to be home to play together. They went to the police station, and they loved his police uniform and told him so! :).

Later in the day, dad and Campbell set up a toy store in Campbell’s room while mom was at work. Super cute and fun.
Then, at bed time, Campbell had lots of questions about how we “picked him out.” 🙂
So this picture was taken at 3:37 a.m. in the hotel lobby while waiting for the shuttle. He was a pretty good sport.

We had a short layover in Dallas, thankfully, and we only had to go one gate over to catch our flight. Campbell had fun playing with a water coloring book and watching Paw Patrol on the last flight. We were at our house before 11:00 a.m.! And, everyone took a long nap after that!
It was a great trip, which is good since it’s probably the last one anyone will be taking for a while, thanks to COVID-19.
Today, we went to the Denver Children’s Museum. Campbell had a big time!
They had a cool fire truck section.
And, a vet center that was super cool.
And, a cool water center:
They also had a cool workshop where kids could play with real saws, nails, etc…
He loved the bubble room. :).
And, dressing up as beaver in the woods :).
There was also a cool area to build tracks that balls roll down and then get sucked back through tubes. Apparently, we didn’t get any pictures there.
Then, we went to Safta for a late lunch since we have to get up super early in the morning.
Later, we went to a cool park. (Denver has tons of cool parks).

Then, we went to the hotel at the airport and went for a swim, packed, and went to bed early (Campbell by 7:15) because we have to get up for a 5:00 a.m. flight. That was even worse than anticipated because we didn’t realize it was day to spring forward. So our 5 a.m. flight was really 4 a.m.!
But, Campbell was a trooper and went to bed even when mom and dad were awake and still packing in the room.
It’s been a great trip, and we are sorry to go home!
We got Campbell some mini magnatiles to travel with. He had so much fun playing and building with them.

We left Copper this morning and drove down to Denver to spend a couple of days in Denver before flying home. We went for lunch downtown at an awesome food truck (The Taco Connection). Campbell loved the hummus. And, then, he got to sit on a police motorcycle, and the policeman even turned on the lights for Campbell! Then, he got a Denver PD sticker. He was so proud of it and said it was the best part of the trip!
They also have a Fire Museum in Denver, so we went there also.
Then, we went to an awesome bookstore, Tattered Cover, in downtown Denver and read books and got a couple of books for Campbell, including The Book with No Pictures, which is one of his favorites.
Later, we went to Little Man Ice Cream, which is a famous Denver place. Campbell had so much fun going down the slide there. And, of course having ice cream for dinner. 🙂

Today, we tried skiing again on a different magic carpet. Campbell had a lot of fun this time. He supposedly knows how to stop and turn, but he didn’t show us any of that. He said he didn’t want too… that it was too much fun to go fast and crash. 🙂
Later, we went for lunch and a popsicle and a trip to the snow playground. 🙂
Later that night, we went “real” tubing, which Campbell still loved!
