On Thursday, Campbell received a box with some fun UVA gear from Tom Jamerson, one my law school friends. Here’s Campbell today showing off some of his new colors. Please note the orange and blue are UVA – not Auburn. :).
And, we finally got some shots of Campbell doing “superman.” It’s so cute – dad holds him up by his hips, and he’s so strong that he can hold his whole body rigid like he’s flying. We turned around his bib backwards so it’s like a superhero cape! :).
Also, we tried something new today. C has resisted taking naps in his crib and has only wanted to sleep in his podster (which he’s outgrown) or later in the swing. He sleeps great in his crib at night – just not during the day. We’re determined to get him napping in his crib, so mom hatched a new plan that we started today. First, my sisters got him a cool aquarium soother for his birthday to look at and play with in his crib (just during the day – we take it off at night since he doesn’t need it). Then, I got him really, really tired. Then, I rocked him until he was drowsy and gave him a bottle and turned on the music from the swing so that he’d hear what he’s used to when he goes to sleep. Then, I turned on the soother and put him in the crib. He looked at it and played around for a few minutes and kicked around on the crib, but he was asleep within 5 minutes and slept for almost 2 hours! Yay! Let’s hope it works again tomorrow for the morning nap.
Here’s the before and after screenshots in his crib. 🙂

And, Campbell is doing a lot more talking. Sounds like he’s maybe starting to say da-da, but it isn’t clear if he really knows what it means yet.
Oh, and Campbell also got to see the Roomba cleaning his play yard, and he was completely fascinated. He spent a solid 10-15 minutes actively watching it go around and clean and craning his neck as it went into the corners. It was really cute. I think we have a new babysitter. 🙂

And, Campbell has really outgrown his bathtub. So, today on his birthday, he also got to graduate to his bath ring. He loves it, as you can see here:
