More pictures found on the big camera from Sunday after church.
And, an action shot of how we get some of those smiles. 🙂
Campbell loves to ride around the neighborhood on the golf cart and see what’s happening. He was so excited to encounter his first proper low rider! He doesn’t even know how much cooler this one is than most!
First, you can’t tell, but the rims are true Cadillac rims. :). And, then I was trying to figure out how someone would possibly drive this car when it’s only an inch off the ground. We circled back around to come see it again, and then we saw the women who owns the car getting in it and leaving. But even cooler than that is what happened next! There is some sort of hydraulic air pump system that raises and lowers the truck! She raised it up and we got to see it and talk to her about it. Campbell was so excited! We also started singing the Low Rider song. Now it’s one of his favorites and he keeps asking for it and to see the low rider! Ha! You never know what you’re going to see in Harbor Town!

One of Campbell’s favorite things to do is to do somersaults. (I think we need to investigate gymnastics classes!). But, he’s gotten bored with “ordinary” somersaults. So we started calling them firetruck, or edger somersaults. Then, it escalated from there. Tonight Campbell couldn’t repeat any somersaults that he’d already done. So, we got creative when we started running out of choices… 🙂
And, Campbell still loves bath time. Hopefully he won’t be mad later that he’s kind of naked in this one! 🙂
And, Campbell started doing baby yoga in the bathtub two. He started doing upward and downward facing dog poses, but I couldn’t get him to keep still long enough to get a good picture. Still, the baby yoga is pretty funny!
Dad started traveling again last week, so mom and Campbell are home alone Sunday – Wednesday (depending on what time dad gets home on Wednesday nights).
So we’re enjoying playing and taking fun videos for dad. Campbell decided it would be fun to “swim” on his tummy in the bathtub. Pretty cute! 🙂
We went back to the zoo today because it was nice out! Campbell loved seeing the third new baby giraffe! This one is only two weeks old. There are others born back in July and in April. An explosion of baby giraffes! 🙂

Campbell has decided that John Lithgow looks like Papa Doc. :).
And, Campbell now loves to play in his podster again. He asks to get it out and read in it. :).

Today, we went to the zoo. Campbell loves to feed the giraffes!
And, later, we caught him asking for his current favorite song – Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth. Here’s Campbell asking for it:
This song is clearly appropriate for a two 1/2 year old. 🙂
Some of his (more appropriate) favorites are:
He’s started to sing some of the words – especially Farmer in the Dell and Old MacDonald and the ABCs (which he’s getting pretty good at, actually).
He loves asking us to play Alexa. He also loves knock knock jokes and asks Alexa to “play that song” all the time. 🙂
Today we went to Shelby Farms with Campbell for the first time. They have a playground there that’s ranked top 16 in the world (not that Campbell really liked it that much). He didn’t like the slides and didn’t want to play in the cool sand and water area. But he did like seeing the horses up the road and eating brunch at the Kitchen, which was great.
And, again here:
Later, we played outside on the sand and water table. He liked that much better! 🙂

Finally, Campbell has started trying to “read” to himself. It’s really cute to see him hold his books and say “Campbell read by self. ” Then he talks to himself and tells the stories – it’s so cute! 🙂

Dad and Campbell were enjoying the front porch this morning. It was so cute seeing them sitting there chatting in their chairs – but Campbell was too interested in my phone to let me get a picture!

Later, Campbell got to visit with his Aunt Lizzy and Pat Pat & Bing. Which, of course, wouldn’t be complete without a game of peek-a-boo in the hallway!

I can’t believe it! The big day is already here – Campbell’s first day of “school” – aka Mother’s Day Out at St. John’s Episcopal church in Memphis. He seemed excited to go and kept asking if there would be a school bus at school. :). We took his cute firetruck backpack and a special new pacifier with a monogrammed pacifier clip that’s just for school. And, we ordered a new “buddy” so we can keep an extra in his backpack to to to school all the time. And, we took Campbell’s monogrammed firetruck sleeping bag for him to nap in.
Campbell’s class is the “Funky Frogs.” Seriously. :). And, no, we didn’t ask for that. We met his teachers Ms. Marcia and Ms. Ashley on the way in. They seem so nice, and Campbell seemed to like them. School hours are from 9 – 2 each Thursday, and we can add one extra day a week if there is space available, which will be good on days when Marie is sick or has to be out for some reason. The friends in his room are Zach, Kaydence, Eliyah, and Josh.
Campbell did get a little mad/upset when we went inside because we had to go right by the playground, and he couldn’t understand why we couldn’t stop to go play on the way in. He cried for a minute, but calmed down with his pacifier, and he was totally fine by the time we left (even after we took his pacifier away). We were skeptical that he would actually nap, but he did! The teachers said that they had to rub his back to help him go to sleep, but he did sleep with buddy in his sleeping bag and with his special pacifier. And, he ate his lunch and made a drawing. :). So, all in all it was a success. Here are some pictures we took on the way in, and here’s the report we got on how his day went! 🙂

I also have a scan of his art project from class today, but it’s at work, so I will try to add it later. 🙂
The only unfortunate thing is that the nap is only about 1 hour at school. That’s less than half of what C normally gets, so he was kind of a disaster later in the day, but we will all adjust! He’s getting so big! 🙂
Not that you can tell he’s a disaster in these pictures. 🙂

Campbell loves his Monaco racing hat. You may be able to tell that he put it on himself… 🙂

More running snuggle buggles. 🙂
Campbell got to check out the playground at Chick-fil-A. 🙂

Campbell loves to run and snuggle buggle. 🙂
Campbell still loves going on the golf cart ALL THE TIME! 🙂
